Except for the luckiest fantasy owner, everyone needs to find the well-known diamond in the rough at some point-an abstention line or substitute player who can score some points in a critical juncture. This weekly special is dedicated to the part of fantasy football. It is not beautiful, but it is part of the game.

John was named the most accurate fantasy football expert by FantasyPros in the 2010 and 2014 seasons, and has been in the top six in nine of the past 11 years. Cumulatively, John has been the most accurate expert in 2010-20 and also won various draft ranking accuracy competitions (2011, FSTA and 2019, Fantasy Nation).
